I have noticed a couple of holes in my lawn and in the soil at the base of bushes around the house. There are no mounds of dirt, so I don't believe the are moles. Does anyone know what they are and how I can stop this from happening again?

    Thanks,
    Steve

I'd say either snakes or field mice. I just had a guy remove 6 field mice from 3 holes around my bulkhead.

Could be ground bees, snakes moles etc. Is it a hole where an animal lives, or could it be a turf disease etc.Need more info!

I haven't seen any animals go in or out of the holes, yet I believe they were made by animals. The holes made in the soil at the base of the bushes are about the same size as the holes in the lawn, roughly the diameter of a soda can. The shape is almost a perfect circle.
    thanks fivestar for your help...

I would say fill it in and just watch it. Sounds like mole, field mouse or a python.:D
