For those of you who have made their own flyer and ads, how did you record that in your journal? If you bought the ink and paper at staples for example, would you mark it down as an advertising expense, or an office supplies expense?

Definitely charge it to advertising. Charge paper, ink, sissors(paper cutter)
Uniforms can be charged off as well as truck decals, business cards anything that has your name on it.
