Has anyone had a booth at a show? Has it been a useful marketing tool? I want to increase the hardscaping side of the business next year and am looking for good advertising ideas. I am even considering going back into the yellow pages.

I would say give it a try if not too expensive.
I would not expect much biz out of it, if it is a small town type show.
Mostly tire kickers looking for free pencils at those these days.

It all depends on how much effort you put into your display and working the show. If you make the hardscaping look realistic and use trees or arbors to give the display some height it should look nice. You have to work the people also. You cant just sit there and expect them to come to you. When we do shows, we invite them in, ask them questions and ask them to sign our guest list. I would say that we get to do some type of work for at least 25% of the names, and we usually get at least 30 names.
