Homemade JD Collection Sys,

    The cylinder is not hydraluic but an electric screw type in which the cylinder does several things ,It holds the hopper in the upright position wedged tight. When in the fully extended pos. When lowered it will pull the door linkage to open the door and then pinch it shut again when in the extended position.

    any tips on where i could find a engine for a vac system? Ive been looking on craigslist but dont know what to search for, like what kind of keywords to use

    I have on order a big sheet of aluminum diamond plate to replace the heavy plywood with thin aluminum on the hopper. the 50lb bag of fert. keeps it on all 4 going uphill loaded! But i want it lighter!

    Yea mostly. I used the bag that came with the chipper that heavy fabric, It will balloon upwards tight about 4 inches when running. As long as it can release air flow it will fill up the box. on the first test trails i found out that the back vents i had were not enough to do the job.

    Yep It is a deck lift piston for a ol bunton :)

    What blades are you running with the system? gator? hi lift?
