Just bought a new Billy Goat leaf loader and would like to put an hour meter on it. I've done a little researching and I'm not quite sure if I can put an hour meter on it or not. It's an 18hp Vanguard, recoil start. It has an on/off switch but no key. Any help...??

Ditto, the tiny tach works great. Also handy to have the RPMs displayed when it's running so you know if it's operating at the correct speed. You can buy cheaper hour meters (minus the tach) too.

    Just a heads up,

We tried the two that Jason posted on our rental equipment, They just didn't last very long. I have some machines with the Tiny Tach that's been going strong over 4 yrs...... With any of these tachs mount it in a position so the face is out of direct sun light.

    Good to know.

I have a tiny tach that was mounted on an aerator when I bought it. 8+ years ago, I bought it used, and it had been on the machine for several years prior to that at least. I didn't need it on there, so I took it off and put it on another mower. It's still in use, and still works fine. I'd guess 15+ years old. (no, the hours aren't resetable on mine, I just wanted to keep track of oil change intervals.) Can't change the battery either, so that's original. Hell of a battery is all I can say.

The SenDec brand one is used on most machines... At least my Walker, and I think thats what's on my grasshopper as well.
