Hello all. I wanted to share something strange that happened to me today. I recently bought a Sendec Hour/Tach meter for my Exmark Metro. I installed it and mounted the display with velcro on the metal bar supporting the gas tank. After the installation, I could not start the engine. It sounded almost as if the timing was off. Come to find out, it was the hour/tach meter shortening out/grounding out the spark plug. I spoke with my local dealer and they have never heard of this happening before. I decided to mount it with velcro on the side of the gas tank (somewhere not metal). Has anyone here ever had something like that happen to them?

I have a Tiny-Tach hour meter and had no problems mounting it where I wanted ( to metal ). There has to be a short in your particular hour meter. Take it back.
