How do I get Stihl Power head to join with edger?

Just bought a Stihl 110 4 mix power head with edger attachment. They assembled it for me but did not demo it. The engine starts (sounds wicked) but the edger won't spin.

I took it apart and tried to put it right but I can't get that line and arrow completely flush. There seems to be half a cementer away and I just can't get it in.

also, is it true you only let the edger dig about 5mm of depth? I just read that in the manual, I thought it was inches.

I think the cable from the edger attachment is stripped or something. It's cone shaped and stuck inside the outer housing a good inch.

All the pictures in the manual show various attachments with the cable sticking out the end slightly but mine is at least an inch inside on the edger.

    Well I fixed it.

When I was able to pull that cable in and out, it had about two inches of play, I took off the bottom and inserted it properly there. Now it's working fine.
