how do you bury your cable

    I bury it under dirt in a shallow trench or dont bury it at all and put mulch over it..if it is to run under a walkway or pathway I run it thru ABS pipe and bury that.

    Note article 300.5 of the NEC code regarding burial of low voltage wiring:

    -All locations not specified below: 6 inches
    -In trench below minimum 2" thick concrete: 6 inches
    -Under a building: In raceway only
    -Under roads, alleys, public driveways and parking lots: 24 inches
    -Under one- and two-family dwelling driveways and outdoor parking areas and used only for dwelling-related purposes: 18 inches
    -In or under airport runways, including adjacent areas where trespassing is prohibited: 18 inches

    I guess I'm in violation then and should get back out to that airport and sink my cable a bit deeper under the runway so it complies.:laugh:

    i usually go 24" when going under aiport runways...can't be too safe.:)

    Make sure you go deep enough so the frost dosen't bring it to the surface in the spring. :waving:
