How do you sell....

    If your company offers services aside from irrigation, what tactics do you use to upsell irrigation to your existing client base?

    We are the other way around. We are 2/3 irrigations and 1/3 applications and services related to applications. We've found it difficult to capture a meaningful qty of appplication busines from our irrigation customers.

    To date we have relied mostly on printed material sent with invoices and with our winterization notification in the fall. The next step should really be to push it on the phone when customers call for service or in the fall when we schedule their winterization. The other method would be top use the sprinkler service techs to ask them when doing service. The techs have a short term job history on their route sheet so they would easily know if a customer is getting lawn apps.
