For heavier equipment, how important is it to you to have a dealer close by? How often do you have to bring your things in for service or work and how far do you have to go?

Nine times out of ten I do all the work on my equipment. I know what I'm doing so it's no big deal to spend an hour or two every now and then to fix something.

If I take it somewhere it needs to be close. Time is money, and if I spend less time to drive back and forth then I'm all good. Besides, gas prices stink too.

I've had a couple of problems with my Bobcat going down on a job site, and it was very helpful that the dealer is w/in 30 min. of most everywhere that we would work.

Without having the dealer close by, we would have lost a lot more productivity than we did.

So, to answer your question, I'd say yes, it's helpful to have a dealer close by.
