how late can you overseed rye in MN?

    does anyone know who late you can overseed rye in minnesota and lbs per/sq' to use. I am trying to put together a late special of aerate, fert, and overseed.

    Thanks Jeff,

    I am new to the green industry and have always been under the spring overseeding phylosiphy. I wan not sure if I was to late or not.

    You can do it now, but water, water, water to get it established before hard frost. You are going to lose a portion over the winter, as new rye is susceptible to snow pack. Make sure all leaves are removed from the area before snow cover and reseed first thing in the spring. This should give you a decent turf by mid-June of 2003. Good luck, and get seeding.
