i was just wondering how many accounts you guys have, or how many lawns do you typically cut in a week. And what hours do you work.

Flyers and door to door worked for us. We looked into getting an ad in the phone book but they wanted somewhere around $300 a month. So if your just now starting try and find a good place to design and print your flyers. Also put flyers in resturaunts and carryouts. Good luck

Same here, Have one account and have been doing flyer's and started paper adds and residential news letter adds. Hopefully this week will produce some more business. Think of any and every way to get your name out there.

25 accounts right now. Just got my first commercial account today.

We work about 10 hours a week mowing, then countless hours on paper work, and just stuff that needs to be done.

I have close to 125 accounts, and getting more everyday. I still have to get in contact with 15 of my clients from last year. One thing you got to relize is most (80%) are about 28,000-35,000 + sq. ft. Were probably cutting about 110 acres a week, (last year figures) we do it in about 75 man hours, based on my 2 employee's one (crew leader gets 40 hrs reguardless), and the other employee gets about 30-35. Thats last year figures also, I did not mow myself, did the bidding/fert/payroll/etc. This year I have added areation, and am working on getting a hydro seeder, I think me and my wife will do the seeding.
