How many yearly apps. are you doing? I know is depends on your area.
Some big companies in the south are doing 8 apps. I think they are just adding apps. to get money.

I call my program a 5 step. That's 5 apps of fertilizer. But Ialos do weed control 3-4 times and usually on a different day than the fert due to working around the weather. so thats technicaly 8 apps. Also I offer grub control as a seperate additional app so I could be doing as many as 10 visits on some sites but still only appplying fert 5 times. just saying 8 apps doesn't mean much unless you know what is being applied. For bluegrass and fescue 4-5 lbs of N per season is the recomended amount. If you use some slow release fert this can be done with 4 apps.
Check the recomedatoins for turf in your area and build a plan from there. Talk to your local extension people and your local Lesco dealer. they should have lots of helpful info.

  3. With the right fertilizer, I believe the fert can be applied in 2 to 3 applications!
