Another thread caught my attention so I thought I would address this question. How many lawns do you mow each day and/or week? How much do you generally charge for the average size yard?

3 properties a day minimum, some days more than that. Of course, if weather is bad, they pile up.

Define "averege size" property. Typical subdivision lots here at 1/4 acre or slightly less than that, I'm getting 40-45 bucks a cut, because I made the decision to raise my prices this year.

Keep in mind this is my 6th year, and it took all of those years before I could do the numbers while maintaining the quality... My first year, whatever, but 5 / day was like really pushing it back then. That having been said...

It varies considerably, depending on work load and time of year, but I also won't start the truck for less than 3, I really enjoy 5-6 but am currently doing 8 / day. Peak production for me is 8-10, I can sustain 10 / day but the quality suffers and I'm not willing to do it, thou Saturday I knocked out 11 and my all-time record is 13.

All of my lawns today get what I call a 'standard double cut,' which is the whole lawn over twice... It takes time, the record of 13 wasn't done like that, but Saturday's 11 was, striped and all, today quality comes first for me.

My lots vary in size from 1/8th acre or so all the way to 1.5 acres, thou I only have one that big, I have several acre lots and 3/4's and 1/2's, too. I can honestly say that if I have a healthy mix of lots on the schedule, it is hard to get much more than 8 in a day (unless I don't have to work the next day LoL). Average gross is around $300 / day, thou Saturday was just over $400 (lol), my first year thou I was lucky and glad if I saw 150-200, so it takes time.

I can do more, but it's a matter of quality first, and I don't want to be so dog tired I can not work the next day because I'm ueber sore, so I pace it out at least some. That, and I try to average out the workload / day so I don't work myself right out of a job, so even if I have 12 lawns that need cutting but that's all I have for the week, I'll spread it out over 2-3 days.

My personal recommendation is just let it happen, with time comes practice, but the best record days are set when you're not trying, if that makes sense.

The most I do in one day is 12. Average lawn is between $35 and $40. Nearly all the lawns I do are less than 1/4 acre.

Have around 45-50 regular mowing customers who range from 1/8 to 1/2 acre I believe. We (two man crew) try to crank those out in two days, and the rest of the week is maintenance and installations.

Hey thanks guys for your input. I'm running a two man show and we do about 16 clients in 2 days. It doesn't take us that long to get them done, but thats how we've spread them out since the other 3 days we end up doing misc. jobs. Most of our clients vary between 3/4 acres to 2 acres, with a few small 1/4 acre jobs. Keep in mind we are only running a John Deere LT160 42", Honda push mower 21", 2 Echo weed trimmers, and a commercial (our only piece of commercial equipment lol) blower.
