How many times per year do you trim Barberrys?

I want to bid a job with 36 Barberry plants that I was told to "keep trimmed." All of them are approximately 1.5 ft tall right now. They look as though they have recently been trimmed (meaning they have a good shape right now). How many times would have to trim these over the next 12 months approx?

You can get away with one time in spring and one time in fall.

If they want a tidy appearance, then at least 3 trimmings per season.
