I'm not doubting you...I know where you are. That price just doesn't make sense.
That is what they are gettin though, that price or higher depending on what you want.
LB 82 and scrapper: yepper! what I described is available for delivery.
for dual brakes, add $100.
scrapper-- for being closer, and because you are you (!), I'll cut you a break on the trailer. I'll deliver for, aw heck, say $2,000, HA!
Well, when the guy "re did it", what did he replace or fix? If this guy is telling you some one fixed the trailer, why does it still need the most essentail parts replaced? Not much else other than some welding or wheel bearing replacement could have been done. If the previous owner did some work on the trailer, you may want to find out just what he did.
Could be you are getting something that has been abused and may need some serious inspection b/4 you choose to buy it.
You said you just have to work for it right?
At your prices or his?
I would go for it assuming you are trading your services for the trailer. Even if the trailer is to much it's only costing you time.
Try and find a bank that will let you work off the loan at your rates.
Deason, he replaced the tires, did some electrical work, and I believe he did some welding to the deck. The way we work it is, I find a piece of equipment I like, we arrange the work where the value of the work and the value of the machine is even and do that.
i think youre going to regret getting a trailer that is 5.5' wide. length wise youre set, but that really isnt wide enough in my opinion.
LB82 is correct about trailer pricing in this neck of the woods. I just picked up a 6.5' x 16' dual axle w/brakes on one axel, 2x10 wood deck with marine grade plywood on top, fold down rear gate,USED for $800.00. The new one of the same style are running anywhere from $1950.00 to $2700.00 around the FAIRFIELD county area.
LB82, during my hunting for used trailers, a simular trailer I looked at and the asking price was $550.00. By the time you redeck it, redo the wiring to work with your vehicle, rear gate, paint, this and that you'll be at the $1400.00 mark if you purchase it for $800.00. Either get a real low price for it or keep on lookin'. I'd keep lookin!--good luck!----Did you get a tow vehicle since your truck got wrecked?
Tom, the vehicle problem is no longer really a problem. That really is a nice logo you got there.
