I'm 58. Mow 7 hrs a day with a helper. If I knew I was gonna live this long I would have taken better care of myself.

Since I already know I will live well into my 90's possibly over 100 thanks to strong genetics [unless something happens]....I do in fact take care of myself.

I'm in vastly better shape in every way health wise than my dad was at my age except for my back disc injuries. My dad is 87 now and doesn't look like it or act like it or think like it.

When I was in my late teens early 20's I always thought that retirement and old age means a worn out crippled hunched over, brain fogged, rickety miserable existence.

I can see myself being a pseudo health consultant personal trainer of sorts once I get past what I'm doing now. I freely give out health tips and factoids to my lawn clients if they will listen. Our society unfortunately is so brain washed with the cut, burn and poison mentality thanks in large part to medical establishments influence.

There is a better way and many age related MISERY issues can be dodged and avoided.

You make it sound as if you have had an easy life.

I've had some rough jobs over the years, and some have taken their toll on me.
I still work harder everyday than most just coming into the work force.

My dad was a math teacher and school administrator....aka as desk job white collar worker. I worked waaaay more manual labor grunt type physical jobs even by the time I was 29 than my dad ever did. He made some really poor choices on how to deal with stress migraines and his health tumbled and almost cost him his life. What I have learned in the health realms I shared with him and he has stabilized and in some ways improved despite his age.

Stress is my main nemesis that pulls me down. I hope to put those fires out this year. I'm not getting any younger and I feel like life is passing me by.

    haha

Jack, had many health secrets down pat. I fully expect to look younger than Jack did at the same age. :) Genetic component is huge, life style does matter but solid genetics and good life choices is a win win. Much of what is commonly believed by well meaning doctors these days, even those who are triathletes, are detrimental to your health and will cause serious problems.

This is one of my major frustrations with being an volunteer EMT with the fire district. Sooooo many medical call we ran on could be prevented and many of the prescribed drugs the patients had are in fact detrimental to health. Tragic on all fronts.

Re: Jack LaLane. This dates me but I was tike in the 70's and my mom would watch his show. There were a few of his spas or gyms reasonably close to where live.

Yes I went to elementary school and Jr.High with folks who are fairly well know celebrities, in commercials on TV etc to this day.
