I'm No Expert, But The Instructions On Scott's Weed And Feed Suggest You Wait Until The Product Has Been Thoroughly Watered In Because The "Weed" Part Of The Weed And Feed Will Cause The New Growth To Struggle, Or Kill It Outright. Hope This Helps.

  4. I Dont Have A Bag To Read. Thats Why I Thought A Senior Member Of This Site, Such As Yourself Could Possibly Give Me Some Insight On The Subject Instead Of A Smartazz Answer. I Guess A Bag May Be More Informative Now That You Mention It. Thanks, Take Care.

I'd wait 6-8 weeks after germination of new seed... but that's just me.

The weed component in the fertilizer will suppress the growth of the roots growth of the newly germinated grass seed. Use straight fertilizer. Besides it may be illegal for you to use any kind of herbicide on a client's lawn area. Do not use any pre-emergents either.

That's why sod is better for renovation of weed infested sites. Otherwise, there is too much competition of weed seed germination along with the grass seed. You can fert as soon as 3-4 weeks but remember: LESS IS MORE !! Very Light but more frequent or you'll melt the tender grass. If it wasn't done right you'll be fertilizing the weeds also.

And if you don't have the Label for the bag of fert and you can't read what's in it, DON'T USE IT. It's a disaster waiting to happen. good luck.

  7. HEYGUYS, I DIDNT REALIZE THAT THE NEW FESCUE SEEDS WOULD POSSIBLY BE TARGETED OR STUNTED DUE TO THE WEEDnFEED. THANKS FOR THE INFO.
