I am in the concrete curb business and am doing a job for a customer tomorrow. He also wants it all mulched. Just mulch over the existing mulch.

What is the best way to bid this out?

I get mulch by the yard for 28.00 for the pine bark. How much area does this cover and what you guys charge for labor and the mulch? Thanks

Hourly rate, $40 hr. How far will a yard go? Simple math will say 1 yard will cover 160 sq ft 2" thick. 160 sq ft x 2" (.17) deep = 27 cu ft.

If you are buying in bulk, you should be able to find pine nuggets all around Tampa for no more than $20/yd. That is too high. Shoot for bagged mulch I pay $25.52 and it is sooooo much easier to deal with than bulk mulch and the nursery loads it on the trailer for you.

As far as pricing, I double the price so it basically comes out to $50.00 a yard installed.

Materials x three is normally a good way to bid it. So say its $100.00 for mulch, charge them $300.00 to install it.

I charge $75/yd installed for pine which costs me $24.50/yd. and I can easily do 3 yards in an hour by myself.
