you guys must not do much flagstone work. square feet per ton is standard way of esimating coverage. coverage is different depending on thickness of stone.

Then it's not flagstone, it cut stone.

    Oh really?

A pretty old, large, well known natural stone dealer in the DC area with multiple locations (2) selling cut stone as flagstone?!

is there an official definition anywhere of cut stone and flagstone??

so everyone that's adverytising they do "flagstone" patios (using square cut stone) you NEED to go back and change your advertising and websites.

It must say specializing in "SQUARE CUT patios"

So if I'm carrying a piece of flagstone and I drop it and it breaks I guess it is no longer flagstone its broken stone. And if I'm carrying a piece of cut flag stone and I drop it and break it is it broken cut stone or broken stone. Please clarify.......

We just call them natural stone patios. Then we take it a step further and call out whether it will be irregular flagstone or cut stone. To each their own I guess.
