How to get rid of old fertilizer?

    In the winter, I mix it in with my bulk salt and just use it for ice melt. It is kind of a half- ice melter by itself but when you mix one or two bags per ton, it melts fine. It is better than throwing it away and it is good for traction on ice.
    In the summer, I just throw it in the hydroseeder. You have to let it mix a little while so the clumps don't get sucked into the pump.
    PS DO NOT PUT DIMENSION OR BARRICADE TREATED FERTILIZER IN YOUR HYDROSEEDER! You won't be happy.

    If it doesn't have chem in it. You could till into garden, spread around trees and ornamentals, or side dress corn. If you don't garden, give it to someone who does.

    Its the agency here in New York that governs conservation(dept. of enviromental conservation)
