I got a call yesterday for a Zoysia sod install. Sod, not plugs or sprigs. I've never done it by sod before. I just plugged existing lawns and let it take off.

This location is not new and already has an established lawn. I know the Zoysia is agressive and all. But what kind of site prep do you recommend? I don't want to under do the prep. But I don't want to over do it either.

we always come in a week prior and spray lawn with round up to kill out all competition. then if not a large lawn we just take a sod cutter and remove what is left. this is easier because u have a good level surface to start. just take a power rake to help break the top layer we always prep one day and sod next because i water lawn(just dirt at this point) this helps to see where low spots are we doulble check just prior to sod arival then lay green side up... lol

    hope this helps.

What about if it's a large lawn? What do you do instead of the sod cutter?
