I was walking through lowes picking up some deck stain when I saw the Husqvarna hu775l push mower for sale and it looked pretty good for $329. Rear wheel powered and 7.75hp Briggs on it. I was going to impulse buy it but my 3yoa was pulling me out of the store.
I did some research tonight on a new push mower because my 5.5hp is tired and my Honda has seen better days with the trans shot and surging even with a new carb.

Anyway the reviews are about 50% some love it a lot hate it stating the rear drive is junk won't pull itself in the grass and the weird no prime no choke feature makes it hard to start when warm. But tons of power
I have more little 500sq ft yards this year and really would rather get a better 21 or 22 instead of using my belt 36" walk behind.
I'm not dropping $1000 on a push mower and not happy with the Honda.

Any suggestions? Has anyone seen this mower or have experience with it?

honda engines are the best. i have the gcv 160 on my pushmower. it's lasted over 10 years. they last much longer than briggs engines.

They don't rate push mower engines by HP anymore. That mower IS NOT 7.75 HP. That is the foot pounds of torque the engine produces, but it is at, or near the top of the heap for power on a pusher.

Honda trans isn't good with the plastic gears always tearing up. Engine doesn't run smooth no matter what you do to it Even with new carb. Did I mention weak also i had a $100 bolen with more power. that's what's wrong
Kinda disappointed with a $500 mower

you must've got a lemon or something. my honda engine is over 10 years old and i've never had to get anything fixed. hondas don't have plastic gears either. are you sure you have a honda?

i think yours is just old. if you get a new one you won't have those problems.
