Hey all. I have a Hustler 4100 WAM that I have a couple of questions about, maybe I can get some help.

First question, I got this used and don't have good literature on it, but can someone help me determine what to use for hydro fluid in this unit? Is it going to be motor oil or hydraulic fluid? How can I determine?

Second question, there is a hydraulic valve and lever that works a cylinder connected to the deck height linkage. Basically, you adjust the deck height via a lever that works a hydraulic cylinder. Everything as far as I can tell on the hydraulic system work great (drive, steering etc), but this cylinder is not moving when I work the valve. I'm a novice at hydraulic valves and cylinders, so can someone give me a pointer or two on this one as well?

    Thanks,
    Matthew

When you work the lever can you see the valve spool move?

yeah, if by valve spool you mean the assembly the lever is attached to. I see it moving in and out.

Any ideas. What should I be checking? What about that fluid-type?
