I have a hustler Z with a 23 ho kawasaki. When I turn the blades on the mower loses power. When the blades are off it runs fine. Any ideas?

Make sure it's running on both cylinders.....

Start it up and leave at idle, Remove each plug wire one at a time with rubber handled pliers. If the engine dies when either wire is removed the cylinder on the other side isn't operating, Check for spark on that wire/coil. If you have spark try a new spark plug, If still no go remove the valve cover and inspect the rocker arms and push-rods.

If you don't have spark on the non running cylinder replace the coil....

Thanks. I checked all that you had mentioned, everything checks ok. Im going to change the coils, it cranks awhile before firing and i know that replacing the coils fixes that. So ill see if that fixes my power issue

Had the hard starting issue last week, adjusted the valves; fixed it immediately :)
