A buddy of mine is going to be putting his Hustler Mini Z up for sale and asked what I thought he could get for it. I believe it to be the 52" w/ a 23 Kawi. It has 165 hours on it. He thought 4800.00, I told him no way because anyone can purchase a new one for 5299.00 from the local dealer. What do you guys think?

I believe it has a 19HP Kawasaki, however, I think you're right. I don't think he'll get that for it. I know I wouldn't pay that for it. You'll get a lot of different schools of thought on this site about how much used mowers are worth. I'd bet money that the guy's selling them think that their mowers are worth a lot and the guy's buying them don't! payup I've seen first hand the damage that can be done to a mower (yes with only 165 hrs on it) and I would offer him 2000.00 less than what he paid for it. Why? Because if the engine goes shortly after I buy it I can replace it and still end up with a pretty good deal. :dizzy:

    Hustler MiniZ 23 Kawasaki / 52" Deck.. Brand New MSRP= $8099.00

    You're best deal won't get you $5299.00

Does it have the 23" Tires or small one's like prior to 2003?

If it has 23" Tires with a 23 Kaw and 52" Deck and only 165 hours $4800.00 would be easy to get. If it has the smaller tires I'd ask $4500.00-4800.00 Bigger tires I'd ask $5200.00-5500.00

Is the near $1000 price difference between the two just due to the fact that the larger tire model is newer?

If I was buying it I wouldn't want to pay over $4000 for it.
