I have a hustler shortcut 1500 that I bought not running. I'm working on the deck now, and it has 3 blade pulleys that I've greased and they turn fine. Also, it has two other pulleys. One connected to a spring (belt tensioner pulley) and the other just mounted to the deck. My question is this. All three of the blade pulleys turned fine upon purchase, but the two other pulleys (by the way, they don't have grease fittings) only turn about a quarter to a half of an inch then stop. This occurs in both directions. I don't know how it makes sense that they would'nt turn all of the way around, but before I forced them, I wanted to make sure I was'nt making a mistake.
    Thanks for any advice.
BTW, anyone have any advice about this mower, i've never cut with one, and I'm anxious to get it running.

Sounds like you need the deck idlers, I am assuming the bearings are bad.
Did this machine sit a while with out being used ?
E-mail me your model and serial # off the deck and tractor and I will provide you with the part #'s so you can go to your dealer and purchase them.
