I have never had this happen until yesterday. My Exmark HP started to "clank" as I pushed the arms forward. The further I pushed the louder the "clank" got. I am not an expert by any means, but I assume something is wrong with the hydraulic system. Any thoughts?

I have a 48" HP...Mine did not make any clanking sounds but I did think something was wrong with the hydraulics once and it turned out to be the belt. Even though it was not broken, it was in such bad shape that it made wierd noises and must have been slipping because it would not drive properly sometimes...I would check the belt first and the hydraulic fluid level. Other than that, You may want to call or take it to the dealer...

Sounds like a bad wheel drive. Not cheap to replace. I backed into a hole and screwed one of mine up. Close to 1K to replace the unit.
