I'm doing the first oil change on my ZT-3400 transaxle. Anyone know the correct procedure? Why does the oil on one side look super clean and the other is a bit dirty?

If it's the same as the zt-3100, wich im assuming it is, run it for a few minutes, then remove the caps on the hydro reservoirs, then remove the oil filler plug on the transmissions up at the top on the side, then remove the filters, let the oil drain, coat the gasket's of the new filter's in oil and re-install them, then fill the reservoirs until oil leaks out of the filler plug, reinstall the plug and continue to fill until oil is at full cold mark, be careful because air in the system can cause the controls to be jerky but it bleeds out by its self.

Thanks seems pretty straight forward. Anyone have a part # on the oil filter or even an aftermarket #?

I do not know of an aftermarket part number for the filter. I would use the Hydro-gear filter, as these pumps tend to be picky about the pressures they run.

BUMP for finding out the filter part #s for the zt-3100 and 3400. The part # for the zt-2800 is Hydro-gear #52114. DO NOT use a regular oil filter as they have anti-drain back valves.
