Hydrostat or gear drive walk behind ?

    How is the handling on the gear drive WB's. Do they shift gears smoothly ?
    will the deck pop up at all when using a velky ?

    Dewck will pop up all depending on the weight on the velke.

    I also prefer and run the hydro (Ferris), Nowadays, with the longer lived engines, synthetic oils, etc. It's easier to justify the added price of the hydro option

    Hydro if you have a lot of extra money. I have a belt because I didn't have that much extra. But when I buy a new one I will get a hydro for sure.

    Hydro its worth the money, no gears to replace and the pumps seem to last for ever
