I don't get it...

    If the engine is under the seat, then what is under the hood?

    Battery and fuel tank.

    Aren't those the dambdest things??? I see one in use next door to a lawn I mow (homeowner) and I did a tripple take on that thing. With all the engine weight on the drive wheels I'm betting it's a pulling and pushing SOB! As for what's under the hood... gas tank and battery would be my guess, other than that it's just there for looks!

    ok, battery and gas tank makes sense. Never before have I seen such a thing.

    The hydraulics for the lift are under there also.
