No, but you should be able to add the Piranha shredding blade to it to make it shred better. They put them on their newer machines but my dealer says they will work on the older ones too. I think what happens is that as the impeller wears the edges do round off a bit and the tollerances between it and the housing increase, leading to less shredding.

Check out the shredding blade here: http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?p=3759378#post3759378

I use the mower to bust them up before I bag them. I back over them random like until I've got most of them chopped up, then I start bagging them. I can fit a large amount on my truck doing it this way. If I tried to just load leaves up I wouldn't fit half of what I can fit on the truck.

They should work but we don't recommend it because we couldn't test it on all of the debris loader series we've made since the mid 80's. If you are going to do it, be VERY careful to make sure there's no weld slag or debris on the top of the impeller when you install it on the impeller. If the Piranha gets loose for whatever reason the impeller gets lose along with it. This vibration will eventually break your crankshaft. Also, if you're replacing the bolt fastener when you do this make sure that the new bolt you tighten the assembly down with doesn't bottom out in the crankshaft. If it does, long term you'll break the crankshaft as well. These are a couple simple things to keep in mind.

To lighten things up here's a Holiday video we put together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmdFMwDTE2g

I have the piranha blade on mine. Can they be sharpened or replaced ? The impeller blade is getting banged up as well, can it be filed down or just replaced ? I don't want it unbalanced. What would the dealer do if I took it to them ?
