i have a scag w/b with a 17 hp kawi. today i had it running, went inside, and when i came back out it was stalled. Then I pull started it again and nothing was happening, the cord is a little bit easier to pull, and there is also no spark. So i clean the outside of the flywheel and the magnets and still nothing. I havent puled the fly wheel yet, what can it be? thanks, gary

Sounds like a bad ignition module to me. The module was cool when you started your mower but as it sat there and ran it heated up and stopped working.

Check spark, Check for fuel, Check for compression.

For starters, spray some starte fluid and see if it fires. If it does it is fuel issue, if it doesn't it is compression or spark (ignition)

i tried starting fluid, nothing. there is compression. I just ddont know if it is the ignition coil or the charging coil under the flywheel.

Never ever use starting fluid. If the engine is ok it will run on gas.
