I mean he's out of his depth and would be better served by paying someone that knows what they're doing to come show him how to troubleshoot this than by trying to figure it out on his own from what he can glean from an Internet message board.

Or, I agree with you, he's in over his head.

What does that mean? Why would you need 100' leads?

I think if you report your findings back to this board, these guys could really help you. But they need more info!

1idejim is the best in the Biz of wire trouble shooting that I know.

I also agree with Muddy, MM are portable devices which just proves 1idejim's statement.

BTW, just picked up a toner today for my project.

That is nice of you to say but the best that i know lives in Texas.

Sprinkus works circles around me as an all around troubleshooter, i just find shiit.

Lots of luck with the new toner. You can use your body as a filter for quicker more accurate results.

My bad... Thought you were referring to the "touch test" to see if a wire is hot. Happens more often to me than i would like!

    Toners been working well.

Been finding all kind of crazy stuff on this site. Located very accurately a burial direct bunch of splices, without direct burial connections.

There is a transistion to a multi strand 18 ga and back to 14 ga. Multiple wire connection on each end that do not make any sense, ryhme or reason nor do they match on each end. I get the impression a contractor hit the wires and just started twising wires together to get as much as they could to work. One wire running two stations, two wires running one station, dead stations and so forth.

Found the water side cross between the "tree bubblers" and the ROW spray heads.

Almost have this bad boy licked.
