i feel like i am obsessed with keeping my weed eater line all the way out, if it goes in about an inch i tap it back out, if i feel like its not cutting wide enough, i tap it out. im just so used to keeping it fed out all the way that its aggravating if the line is to short. It works for me though because i can run with the damn thing and cut a perfect edge.

I do the same thing, I have the Shindy 242, doesn't hold much line, have to reload twice a day, hate it.

I do the same. Just hate short line. I seldom even use the small push mower anymore. I just hit it with the string trimmer.

It's not an obsession, it's that you're going through it and if you're
going through that much string, you're probably doing it wrong.

I probably tap mine once or twice per yard and reload it maybe once a week, or so.

Doing what wrong, when its out, its out, then you reload?

I'm with Topsites. You guys are doing something. I'm reloading after 75 or more lawns. I can trim about 500 feet of chainlink and sometimes never have to advance the line. Normally I bump it maybe once or twice on a lawn.

Do you have the guards on?
