I think I have a leak II

  1. Found this today. First off the purple primer is mine from cutting the very top lateral line above the main so I could cut this out. This Blue glue stuff is so hot it bubbled up the pipe, no primer and the excess glue was not wiped off. I fix more leaks with blue glue than any other type of glue...

That second pic looks like what happened to me last year. an attempt to thaw a frozen line on a late blowout. I guess i was rushing a little... and MAPP probably wasn't the best choice for heat.

Blue glue is not necessarily hot glue. The Plumb Tite we use is blue but not hot... you can use it wet or dry though. :)

  4. This blue glue was hot enough that it caused a big zit on the pipe..lol...I like seeing this kind of work...

we use exclusively blue glue and have never seen this issue

  7. I have seen this on many occasions. Every time it has been pr200 as the main and 95% of the time it is the blue glue....

We use IPS 725, which is the same color.

I've never seen it bubble the pipe.
