insect takeover!

    i have a ton of these insects flying around on my lawn. I dont know what they are but they are bigger then a jap. beetel but look very similar. They dont seem to be on any of the plants lieka beetle but are just swarming on teh lawn. Is there anybody that knows what they are and what to do or does anybody know of a place to look for info( ie website). Thanks for the help.!

    If the body looks like a beetle it may be a masked chafer. What type of turf?

    not a masked chafer! it looks alomst identical but it has agreen back on it. it basically looks like a big jap. beetle. It is about 1 inch long by .5 inches wide.

    I agree! They are June Bugs. They are harmeless to your plants but they will be laying eggs later. Grubs are the product of that.

    so let me get this straight what i have now are june bugs(harmless) they lay egss that become grubs. They tur into jap, beetles. Are june bugs just big jap beetles? or am i reall confused(its been known to happen!)

    The Grubs will be new June Bugs next year! June Bug Grubs.
