Installing Mulch

    I am new to the lawn & landscaping industry, I was just wondering what is a good thickness of mulch to lay? 2", 2"1/2 ,3" Thanks in advance for any help or input.

    About 2", but mulch should never be deeper than 3"-4". If it is deep around tree trunks over time it will cause damage or even kill, so feather it away from the tree trunks. Use Pro Preen to keep weeds down. This is a good add on $$. Put it down before mulching. It should take no more than 1 hr. to lay 1 yd of mulch.

    For existing beds we topdress 1" of mulch. If you're creating a new planting bed you should spread it 2 1/2-3".

    Agreed, and if we do it yearly and the beds are in good condition we have even done 1/2". Depends on when the last time was the bed was maintained.

    i agree also...every app is different but i agree with the above
