Customer had me plant winter rye for the green effect in November so she can just resod come March. The old St. Augustine was nixed out because of chinch bugs that were out of control before they could be controlled, plus she didn't water much. Anyhow, my question is, do I just need to kill the rye first and then layer of top soil and then sod or what? Have sodded before, but none with winter rye exsisting.
