Does anyone have any documentation on removal of a Walker Transaxle? I have a friend with an older 16hp which has a bearing going out in the gear axle drive. He and his father are very hand mechanically. He says he has someone who can braze in a new needle bearing once he gets the gear axle drive out. I have worked on my own walkers regularly, but I haven't ever tried to work on the drive train except to replace belts and T-boxes.

    thanks

First you have to remove the pumps to remove the alxe drive. But you may not need to go that way. If it is the outside bearing you can do it while it is still on the machine. See the files I have posted here. There are two drives used. The part number is stamped in the casing.

I have taken off a pump and gear axle. It is not that hard but it will take several hours.
