I just ordered a Mackissic (Johnson) Big Wheel push mower (24-inch cut, 20-inch wheels. BBC). It comes with an Intek I/C 6.5HP horizontal engine.

A similar 24-inch walk-behind, the Billy Goat Countour, comes with a 6.5HP "Intek Pro I/C" engine. Briggs doesn't list such an engine. Nearly all Google hits turn up the Billy Goat. I tried "Intek I/C Pro" and got a few hits, mostly for generator engines.

Can anyone tell me what distinguishes the Intek I/C from the Intek I/C Pro?

I believe the difference is that the pro has full pressure lube and spin on oil filter.

It's on the briggs website, but not under the commercial section as one would think. All the Intek verticle engines have gear driven pressure lubrication, the pro adds the oil filter.
