Just got started in the irrigation side and do not wuite know how to charge. Here in Tn. people charge $45.00 for service call and the parts and labor. How do you figure the parts charge over cost. Is labor about $45.00 hour or am I out of line, high or low. I buy my irrigation stuff and let's say a Rotor is $6.78. Most people here charge $1.00 a foot for funny pipe.
    thanks for the insite.

Are you also charging $45 an hour for your labor? On top of the $45 service call?

Parts should be list plus tax, at the very minimum. Small items can be a buck minimum. Maybe half-a-buck for a crimp clamp.

That's what I'm asking. If the job takes over an hour I'm thinking an extra $45.00 if 2 hours.

Im $45 Minimum service call (Like Reprogram controller only 5 min)

Regular $75hr Service call + Parts are list price, or sometimes better if i feel i can get more.

Commercial is $100 Service call + Parts.

I prorate out after the first hour to every 30 Min.

As long as you're within your service areas (not much driving), you sound
within the ball park. On established clients, no first hour charge..straight
    eighty. Parts list or 50%.

As far as parts. Where can I go for a list price for Rainbird etc. John Deere only has dead cost on their invoices.
