Should I still aerate now in Minnesota or should I wait until fall?

You don't say where in the state you are. If you are in the southern end, I would wait as the temps are getting and staying much warmer. Unless you have a heavily compacted lawn due to foot or vehicle traffic, fall is still the best time to aerate.

    Nothing wrong with aerating now.

It is Minnesota and I am guessing you are in prime growing season, heck even where I am at we still have another few weeks before it gets "hot".

You probably have a month and a half until that point.

Plug away and water it. Use half inch tines if you are concerned about the turf drying out too much.
