when determining how much sod is needed to cover an area, is it important to include the size of each peice of sod per sqft?

At times, sod does come in different sizes. I usually just tell them, "I need xxxx yards of sod" and let them tell me how much I need. I hope this helps some.

Generally, generally sod comes in pallets of 500 sq. ft. Some exotic blends are sold in pallets of 450 sq. ft. By the pallet directly from the sod farm is the best deal. Home Depot or Lowes will cost something like $1.50/piece. Generally a piece is 2' x 16" from those places. Are you sodding Blue Grass and Fescue?

We charge by the pallet or sq ft. Some pallets are being sold with less sq ft for a cheaper price so make sure how many SF are on the pallets you are getting.
