And can 48's fit though gates? Like come in on an angle and turn in, then go through? Thank you.
There are plenty of 48 inch floating deck hydros. Look at any mower make. If the gate isnt 48" wide then I dont think you can get through
ExMark and Scag make the type of walkbehind you are seeking as well as others. I have seen it done where you can angle in, but the gate still must be close to 48". Also keep in mind that even though it is a 48" cut, it is typically a few inches wider.
Look at the Scag or Cub Cadet Commercial 48" floating deck walk behinds. They are tough machines.
I have a 48" Exmark TTHP and can get it though any 48" gate. With the mulch kit on it measures exactly 48.5 inches. I have been able to squeeze it through a 46" gate, but that was a metal fence with thin posts. If the fence is a wooden privacy fence with 4x4 posts it will have to be a 48" gate or your not going through w/o messing something up.
Thank you for the replies Will look for exmark or scag

I just wanted to point out that there is a good resource of info for you that is just a mouse click away - and you don't need to run all over three counties to get it.
Lesco makes a great 48 float w/b. new to the fleet this year. same as the cub commercial.
I bought a JDeere 7H17 Hydro walkbehind with a floating deck earlier this year. Been very pleased with the cut and ease of operation. 7 Iron deck is awesome! Also found the price to be very competitive!
