I purchase a 1993 Isuzu Npr a year ago and will never ever go back to pulling a trailer again. I love it. However, I'm only getting 13mpg. It is a four cylinder turbo diesel automatic with the open bed and dove tail. I realize the fact that it is an automatic hurts the fuel mileage not to mention the 200,000 miles on it. Is anybody else using one and what type of mileage are you getting?

I'd say you're about right on the money.

I'm kicking around buying one used and modifying somewhat a Muddywater ...not sure what to look out for...thought this one was like 2006?

It had 130k miles...I'm thinking it might be worth 18-20k?

There is a truck place up here that will put a ram / dove tail comb on it and ask around 20K.... I suspect they could turn them cheaper. How much is the question. Big city big $ as I have heard of less

I'll keep looking...thought $20k for used was getting off easy, but as several have pointed out, there are likely better deals to be had--

I found one guy in Dallas ....www.iptruck.com that has a few trucks outfitted to do lawn maintenance for $23-24 k 14ft box with dovetail ramp 115k miles on a 5.2 diesel....

I guess the real question for these used trucks is to see the maintenance records and what it was used for maybe?

I really want a crew cab and those seem to be tough to find-
