I bought a 93 GMC 4000 , and someone must have stolen the owners manual,
I found where to buy a new one, but in the meantime, can someone tell me how much oil to put in the badboy when I change it?
    3.9 liter diesel.....
    Thanx all!

more than you'd think...10 quarts if i remember...but dont quote me on that. just get plenty of the recommended oil (probably 15W40, and i only use Shell Rotella) , pre-fill the filters, and pay careful attention to the dipstick as you fill the engine. once you know exactly how much oil it takes...filter and engine, full on the stick after you run the engine, then mark it somewhere on the engine with a Sharpie.

I think 10 quarts is pretty close. All the 3.9 liter japanese engines that I have had experience with take around 10 -11 quarts.
