I currently have a 7 year old japanese maple and the leaves have all but burnt up for some reason. I do not think the tree is dead
but maybe some type of insect or disease has struck it.

Does anyone have any suggestions that they think may help
me save the tree from becoming fire wood.

Has it been fertilized or has there been a lot of fert put on the lawn or bed? I have one at home and it hates fertilizer.(leaves burn and curl)

    Use www.google.com

Enter - Japanese Maple, Verticillium Wilt

Familiarize with that disease, unless you considered it already.
