Newbie here. I am in need of a new mower. I am leaning towards the JD 717A except for the cut height. Specs only show a 1 1/2" minimum. I will be mowing my own lawn, 1 acre of 419 bremuda and wanted to mow at 1". JD dealer says there is NO WAY to make it mow lower. Any JD guys out there that have found a way to make it cut lower than 1 1/2". If not I am looking at a Gravely 144,148 or Kubota ZD321,326 any thoughts there?

I recently purchased a 717A myself. If you want to cut lower, watch out. You better have the smoothest yard in town. IMO, rotary mowers cutting at 1" spells trouble. Plus only 19hp and mid-16,000 blade tip speeds won't help the situation.:)
