I noticed my paint above the muffler on my Johne Deere 777 is discolored from the heat radiating off of the muffler. Has anyone else had this happen. Seems like it may be getting too hot.

It doesn't have a muffler cooling fan radiator?

That is, I believe what you speak of is normal.

Ha ha! Thanks for the quick response. I can see how it would get burnt because it is so close, but just wanted another opinion. At night the muffler glows red so I know it is very hot.

Are you sure it is actually discoloring, and not just carbon build up? I ask, because several of the Deere machines over the years that have green paint anywhere near the exhaust port get like this, and I at first thought they were discolored too, but I can clean it off with hot soapy water and a little elbow grease.
    Just a thought/suggestion.
